Default What happened to DBG???

I don't know, has anybody seen a post from her in awhile? I miss those biting, scathing rants she delivered so colorfully and eloquently. Really livened up the place.

So, please cast your vote and feel free to offer any other theories as to what might have happened to her.

I've wondered this for a while but didn't ask. Pinipeds sarcasm hasn't been the same since she left.

Default So it was #6 then.

Thanks Spork, obviously I missed that thread.

I have to say I'm very disappointed in whichever moderator or moderators were responsible for the banning of DBG. It took me a while before I began to suspect this board was not exactly politically neutral (I'm slow like that) .... but now I have my proof. DBG was a little brazen at times, but it was never gratuitous. She always provided plenty of links and info to back up her positions, and frankly it's obvious she was just a threat to some people's political sensibilities here.

It's a shame. This BBS in theory is still a great thing, but my opinion of it is permanently changed because of this.

The issue was her refusal cease using personal insults in her posts, not her political alignment. (Both she and pinni were repeatedly warned) Very few people have been banned, all for refusal to comply with the guidelines, not for being leftist or rightist. I'm can't agree with you about this board not being neutral, there are posters of all sorts here.

If you say so, but I'm still a little suspicious. I think that what she offerred in the way of research and insight far exceeded that of most of the posters here, and that alone should have been reason to let her stay, despite the small conflicts she may have had with a few members. Besides, we're just talking about WORDS here, aren't we? - and not even curse words. I would think if this site wished to reflect the value of free speech, it would take something other than a few insults for someone to get themselves banned.

However, needless to say I appreciate the fact that this site's owner(s) have the right to run it any way they choose.

I agree, she had much to say, I enjoyed much of her posting, but we have to enforce the guidelines. And there is no way I think it is possible to allow insults.
You can request it, but it's up to the Admin to approve it.

It takes three warnings, public or private, (or something quite out of the ordinary) to be considered for banning, then it is discussed, then the Admin either okays it, or overrules it. It's no two minute process.
