Anyway, why does it matter to you whether other people are monogamous or promiscuous or whatever? You live your romantic life the way you want to, others will live theirs as they please.

Umm, your first source was limited to the bay area, which can fail to take account for the unique demographics of homosexuals who are drawn to the area. It offered no comparative heterosexual numbers. It also didn't consider how many heterosexual males "cheat" on their wives without their approval... thus making the only difference between the two being that the heterosexual males are just as promiscuous, but do so behind their wives back. It doesn't mean they are more or less promiscuous overall.

Your second source is even more meaningless... it's an abstract, which specifically says "This study sought to explore the experiences of gay men who engaged in extra-dyadic sex outside their primary relationships." ... It's not a study of how predominant it is among homosexuals... it's not a study that says homosexuals, in general, do or do not value monogamy. It's a study that specifically looks at gays who are in open relationships. Try harder next time you do some quick googling to try and find sources to back up your claims.

Most gay men are promiscuous at the same rates as heterosexual men, it's just the upper percentile that falls off a cliff and skews the statistic.

1)Statistics without sources are called opinions (lesbians/sex partners) and this particular one would have a reason based in societal norms and couldn't be just thrown out as a number.
