The whole point of the field of comparative psychology is to show how overwhelming evidence in studies done on animal behavior....especially when those behaviors show up in numbers across species...like sexual orientation fixation/trainability does...means that we can expect and predict the same models in humans. We are animals. There is no amount of debate you can throw out here that will show otherwise. The evidence supporting that is like a tidal wave and your stance is like a feather on the beach. Pfaus et al. found that male rats that have an inbred aversion to the smell of cadavers, become attracted to females with the cadaver smell applied to them after just one or two reinforcing episodes pairing that smell with sexual release. They became attracted to an artificial stimulus that they were trained/imprinted/habituated/conditioned...call it what you like...to become unconsciously attracted to.

It explains every human sexual fetish there is. Are people born being attracted sexually to cadavers? Of course not. But necrophilia exists. Pfaus et al have discovered why.

Comparative psychology is a viable and respected field of study. Their findings are peer-reviewed, corroborated and sound. Good luck rebutting them and the entire field of comparative psychology..

There is no effective difference between attraction and arousal in non-human animals because they can't communicate about the difference. We know there's a difference, though. A person who becomes aroused during a rape isn't necessarily attracted to the act or the rapist. It's an uncontrollable physiological response, which can be conditioned, as you've pointed out. Attraction is related, but significantly different. Do you want to marry someone who arouses you, or someone you're attracted to? The two are related, and they may be the same person, but one doesn't automatically include the other. For instance, I seriously doubt every necrophiliac wants to marry a corpse.

We humans of all the animals, while not being free of the lower behaviors and ability to conditioned learning, have a unique ability to self-reflect on those behaviors. This is what causes the angst in molestee survivors. They process through conscious reflection that they want normal sexuality that gives them a wife and kids, but their uncontrollable subconscious imprinting is in direct conflict with that.

This new law's solution to that is to bring the higher mind in line with the animal reflexive behaviors...that's assuming that the higher mind will be OK with that. My contention is that it won't submit to that prison willingly. My solution is that if a person wants [that is to say his higher mind has the reins and has decided on] reparative therapy, that freedom should be availible to him. Period. Anything less is state-mandated prison of children's ability to affect their destiny and overcome their animal compulsions they don't want.

You accused me of making a straw man argument. I didn't say you had made one.

Anyway, the new law is intended to protect children from bigoted parents who would want to force them to "become straight." It's the same as alcohol laws that still prosecute parents for giving their kids alcohol. Why do you want it to be okay for kids to be forced into therapy that has proven to only end in depression (at best) and/or suicide (at worst)?

It is not the role of the professional school counselor to attempt to change a student's sexual orientation/gender identity but instead to provide support to LGBTQ students to promote student achievement and personal well-being."

This is exactly why this branch of pseudo-science and pseudo-psychology is being banned and rejected by all major psychological institutions. The people who are offering these treatments more often than not don't have a license to practice psychology legally and are most often actually religious institutions. They are gambling with peoples well beings and have been the cause of more suicides than any other form of therapy out there.

Still just making up stuff as you go along I see...

The 'young boy' you are so certain he 'scored with' was 16 years old when they met and they lived together for 5 years.

And that is the only example of a minor that you have even tried to argue that Milk had sex with, despite absolutely no evidence that he had.

No child of any orientation should be subject to torture to change an inborn quality.

One could just as easily say the same thing about the gay agenda who have effectively tied the hands of science itself and the hands of those individuals seeking to restructure their sexual orientation themselves, from their own fundamental desire to change what was done to them, with a therapist's help.

Taking away an individuals autonomy and ability to decide his sexual desitny is the truly frightening aspect. This is about ELECTIVE reparative therapy. A trained psychologist can detect coercion or sincerity. If a patient sincerely desires to change a sexual compulsion foisted on him by a molestor, and that individual is catatonic about it and is under 18, that individual must consider suicide instead of therapy because there is none for him as a matter of law...brought to you by the very organized, very persistent and very vocal strong arm of the gay agenda...
