That's your theory, but folks better versed in study of the Bible have offered others. (*)

Henry George's theories were based on land ownership and how far a business was from a public resource like a mill or waterway. The man lived and died a decade before the model T was produced much less modern transportation and communication. Not only did Henry George never hear of the Internet, he barely lived long enough to see the electric light. Applying the theories of Henry George to modern nations is about as risky as letting the most brilliant caveman design your next airport.

Its rather funny, actually, that you'd assume that Noah would curse future generations of his sons family simply because he saw his uncovered willy.

    From your link:
Alter’s commentary states this may be the case as “to see the nakedness of” in Gen. 9:22 frequently means “to copulate with”.

... or telling others about his fathers shameful state of drunkenness.

Course the article starts with "No one knows for sure what happened in the tent that day," so it's not clear Ham actually did what you're suggesting.

    1. You do rrealize that the APA's decision to de-list gay as a psych illness was political, right? And of course the other groups that you mentioned are going off that decision, except of course the rational thinkers like me.

    2. Again, the shellfish prohibition is a Leviticus law, so unless you are a Levite....

The article starts with that opinion, yes, but again most scholars agree that it has something to do with a homosexual act. What is your explanation as to why it pissed off Noah to the point of cursing his issue?

Neither you nor I were there, so we're both guessing. But Noah could have been pissed his son found him drunk and naked and decided to have a show and tell with the neighbors. Old testament justice is pretty harsh, that might have been it right there.

It's also possible his kid was messed up enough to have sex with Noah while Noah was unconscious. Noah may well have been pissed off that his kid committed incestuous rape. Someone raping you is a pretty good reason to be pissed. If his problem was really with Ham being homosexual though, cursing whatever children Ham might someday have seems... a little off the mark.

    Just keep telling yourself that.

The APA's decision to take homosexuality out of the DSM is because homosexuality does not meet the criteria of a physical condition in which there is a disturbance of mental health, and homosexuality is not caused by trauma or ailment.

Oh well, you got me there.

I am a Presbyterian, and the church was just a few votes away from approving of gay marriage this month. My Minister does not preach disapproval of gays.

The church I go to is the exact opposite of what some extremist Muslim, and Southern Baptist type extremists teach. Which is hatred, ranging from disapproval, to homicide.

I'm proud to go to a church that teaches tolerance, and love, for all our brothers, including the least of them. But I don't always claim to go by that...I can't stand gay haters, and if God gave me one day to publically humiliate of as many of them as I could, it would be a good day...but I'm sure that would never happen. I can dream, and pray for my ill thoughts.

You just go on expressing your hatred
