These states allow same-sex marraige but do not officially recognize them yet:
New Mexico
New York
Rhode Island

Nothing wrong with gay marriage.

Why? What purpose does man - man or woman - woman relationships serve?

The reason there are male and female is to breed and continue the species. Obviously gays can't have children on their own. Gay is a sexual preference, and in the most base form serves not purpose to prepetuate the human species. In religious aspect God is not a big fan of homesexuality.

Relationships don't have to serve a purpose. Are you still living in the stone age? I think humans have evolved past the point where we have sex and get married for the sole purpose of perpetuating the species. If that were our only purpose, marraige would not be necessary. Besides, not everybody believes in God, so why cater to those that do? That's unconstitutional.

You fooled me then - based on your argument that the purpose of sex and marraige is for the perpetuation of the human race, I could have sworn you still lived in a cave.

Those people are not being forced to participate in same-sex marraige. Just because something is legal, doesn't mandate you to do it. However, when you prohibit people from participating in an important aspect of society because their inclusion offends you, you are excluding them from society and that, my friend, is what is unconstitutional. This is why segregation was defeated and why the women's suffrage movement prevailed.

Can we move the gay marriage stuff to their own threads? Here are two good ones:

I mean, it's not like there are a shortage of threads about gay marriage on this forum.

I'd rather discuss how liberals feel about the fact that terrorists always seem to be endorsing their candidates. Do they take it as a compliment?

Maybe no one ever told you this, but you don't have to be married to procreate. Marriage has nothing to do with perpetuating the species.

Religion has no place in secular law.
