Default Freedom...

Freedom, the basis on which the United States was founded. However within the 200 plus years in the history of these United States their has been discrimination against certain groups of people. African Americans, Muslims, even Blondes (not as firece or as terrible as some other groups) have been discriminated against, but Americans have overcame these periods of time, and recognized and accepted these groups or people. But now here in the 21st century a new group is being discriminated against… homosexuals. I am straight and have always been, but I feel very strongly about this issue. I constantly hear arguments against homosexual marriage, and I have yet to hear one that does not contain a reference to religion. SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE! The first and most important amendment to the constitution is freedom of speech, religion, and press. How can we force a religious belief on all of Americans? Isn’t it in fact unconstitutional to do so? Look at the flag, an international symbol of freedom, people take refuge in knowing that they are free when on American soil, does this mean homosexuals are not people? Come on wake up! it’s the 21st century lets treat all people with the respect and dignity that they so rightfully deserve, and not force them to accept others religious beliefs.

Don't worry. Every group of people who has ever fought for their rights in America have won their rights. Gays will get theirs, in much due time.
