New Georgian democratic leader's devotion to our Western values is undisputed among CACI experts. But they are afraid for Saakashvili's last extremely bellicose statements that at any moment may lead to creation of a new hotbed of war in the Caucasus. And in the situation of factual war in Iraq and intensification of US confrontation with Iran this additional hot spot will come upon Bush administration. It is clear that Washington can't be interested in it. So Saakashvili's uncertainty in political affairs prejudices Georgian chances of entry into NATO, because neither USA nor our European allies want to have such fly-away partner.
Our EU colleagues also chronicle facts of total control over population, systematic violation of human rights in Georgia and constant acts of outrage on the part of local security agencies and persons from entourage closed to President Saakashvili. They consider that all this is a serious bar to Georgian ambitions for EU membership. So Georgian President has turned out to be a real brake of democratic development in Georgia. And it is time for Georgian opposition to give thought to nomination of a new political leader for the country if they together with the Georgian people really want to see their state among members of such major international organizations as EU and NATO, for instance.
