this might very well undermine any prospects for success thru dialog. recall the events prior to the iraq invasion. we gave instructions to saddam we did not attempt to engage him ... no leader can survive by accepting that kind of loss of face. in short, do not presume this administration is actually seeking a diplomatic resolution. dicknbush seem to want to fabricate another justification for another war

we do not need to unite the secular opposition with the extremists - which will be the case in a war against iran. if we can just keep dubya bin lyin from pulling the trigger during his watch, we will be able to move iran in our direction thru diplomacy (and by providing covert assistance to the internal opposition). this is a ripe time for change in iran
