Default Holy War or Holy Crap?

People, media, and anything else covering our wars are saying or they are trying to convince us its a religious war. I think religion has passed a long time ago, regardless what the media or the government has to say. What kind of war is going to end terrorism? There will always be some kind of group in the future, so are we just sending our men into their own suicide? Or are we trying to make a change?

Default Religious War

I think Bob Dylan says it best:

"You never ask questions when God's on your side."

Default God's side

I wasn't questioning if god was on our side... Sure it may seem that way, don't get me the wrong way here, but it some what seems to me as if there is smoothing other than religion that is driving on this war, something that is giving the terrorist fuel. Such as where are they getting all the weapons? Sure god may be on our side from what he may have said, but I think there may be some kind of conspiracy involved with the terrorist.

Default God on our side

I wasn't saying God was on our side. I was explaining that if you can convince a population that God is with them and what they are doing is morally right, you can get them to agree with anything.

I'm tired of hearing that what we are doing in Iraq, or the other multitudes of countries the US has decimated, is for a moral reason. Humanitarian intervention is another excuse we hear year after year, just so we, the US, feel justified in global dominance.

I think you are right. No matter what we do, how we do it, or how are we work for it, there will always be someone to tear it down and break apart what we worked so hard to get. Now, is it based on religion? I am not sure. Does it matter? A terror attack is a terror attack, no matter if beliefs or just for the heck of it.

NO kind of war. Terror will never end as long as there are those who don't agree with everything they want. This is not a perfect world, and it probably never will be. Ever seen the movie Aeon Flux? In that movie, about 2 million people were left living in a very secluded area. Maybe that would make a perfect world, but of course, under the dictatorship of communism.

The point is, religious or not, it's not going to stop. America can act like a police officer, but what happens when it is "off of work," so to say.
What then?

"Sometimes, terror arises, to destroy the weak and challenge the strong."

Default Nah

It's not a religious war at least for America. We are fighting the spread of tyranny. It is a war to bring peace, but due it seems religious. It seems religious.

We are??
I thought we were fighting the spread of terrorism. You know, since it is called "the War on Terrorism." But you may be onto something here.

A government in which a single ruler is vested with absolute power.
That's what I got when I looked up the definition for tyranny.
Go ahead, you try: www.dictionary.com

Who is a tyrant now? We already removed Saddam.

And yes, terrorism can be partly or wholly based upon religion. You are right about that.
