If we Outlaw Guns, only outlaws will have Guns.
And they are trained on how to use them. I don't know about you, but I dont' mingle with outlaws much and if I had a gun, I don't think I would go out trying to save the world from outlaws. That is what policemen are for.

Default Guns don't kill

There has NEVER been a documented (or even undocumented) case of a gun killing someone, or anything for that matter. A loaded firearm laying on a table in a room packed full of people will never "go off". Someone in that room has to make the decision to pick up the gun and pull the trigger. Guns don't kill, only the person pulling the trigger. So the gun is not the problem the person who uses it and the manner, and intent, in which they use it is the source of the problem. I do support some gun control laws, mostly in the area of assault weapons. I don't see a need for someone to own an AK-47, however, I am against that freedom being taken away.

Default guns

The idea of outlawing guns always makes me think of an old line from Archie Bunker...his daughter was telling him about all of the people who were killed by guns and he asks.."Would you be happier if they were thrown from roofs?" always got a laugh from that line..

For those who like to hunt, AK's make very decent brush guns.

As far as public safety, I'm much more concerned with alcoholics who own fast cars... well, any cars. AK's and the like are involved in VERY few crimes, outside of gangs who obtain them through illegal means (Johnny Chung & Co.).

How is it any different than any other rifle, just because you call it an "assault" rifle...? It looks different...?

Default Not exactly.

No! As the "assault weapons" ban so perfectly illustrates, "assault weapon" just means "looks scary but isn't functionally-different."

Automatic weapons are already heavily-regulated, and I've never heard of anyone in this country hunting with them.

Look a few posts back, he uses an AK-47. Those are automatic, are they not?

Default .

I have two that aren't. They're illegal to sell in this country if they're not semi-automatic.
