Here's a good article. I couldn't find a reference to any of the variations having fixed sights, maybe you've got a pre-bubba'd rifle. Sounds like the factory sights are traditionally zero'd in way high for most shooting, kinda like a mosin nagant. There has to be a way to get the sights on the money at 100 yrds, but it could be a real PITA. If the rifling's in good shape it might be worth it. You could always put a scope on it fairly cheap. The biggest downside from what I've read is that they tend to work best with the heaviest loads you can find. That translates to a lot of recoil. Sounds like a very good design though.
