I'm going to say this again......I'M NOT IN FAVOR OF GUN CONTROL.

I draw the line at explosives, but I have a question....

Have any of you, outside of military experience...ever had to shoot someone, or have you been assaulted by people you could have legally shot back at?

I'm asking this because I have been shot at, and was hit once at the state fair when gangs started shooting back in the 80's. 99% of the people, armed or not, ran when the shooting started.

Guns might make you feel safe, and they make me feel safe, but you better be sure you have the killer instinct if the main purpose of your guns is self protection

And you better bear in mind...the vast majority of people who think they can shoot back and kill someone...don't have the balls.

    Something to think about

When I was shot it was in the soft part of my forearm, right where a tattoo would go.

I was stabbed too, in high school, in the front part of my upper thigh 4 times.

There were stabbings where I grew up, and it never ceased to amaze me how much stabbings are not like they are in the movies. People in the movies get stabbed in the chest, or the back, or stomach.

In the real life stabbings I've seen, the person always gets stabbed in some crazy place, like the upper thigh, or foot, or hands. Then stand there with blood on thier hands after realizing they got hit

You must know what I mean if you were shot in the hand, and stabbed in the shoulder.

Kinda, and I have no doubt that I may incur one or both of those type injuries again in my remaining lifetime .

You should try to avoid that.

I didn't think Oak Run had a lot of bad guys running around.

That explains that "purty mouth" avatar.

I always thought anything north of Chico, and west of I-5 was pretty tame. Sounds like you may have a bit of that Humbolt county vibe.

But at least you're probably in one of the last places where lefties can come after your guns.

No, it would give reason to investigate both the validity and the context of the quote in question.

argued the word people didn't refer to individual citizens. But rather the states.

The issue with McDonald was giving the federal government (in effect) the right to dictate to the States how to write regulations. I believe it was the federal government once again overstepping their bounds. The case before them to consider was whether to apply the 'Due Process Clause' of the 14th Amendment to the 2nd Amendment.

The GOP and gun control policy
    By Dava Castillo
    03-03-12
Principles of President Obama on gun issues:
Stop unscupulous gun dealers from dumping guns in the cities; ban the sale of or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons; increase state restriction on the purchase and possession of firearms; require manufactures to provide child safety locks with firearms. In the past he has been against prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufactures . This would make manufactures, distributors, dealers, or importers of firearms and ammunition. Liable for damages resulting from the misuse of their products.

Now if that is true yes it would in my mind represent the title of this thread.

How does supporting simple, minor, and Constitutional regulations somehow elevate into a "war on the Second Amendment"? Your conclusion does not follow from the facts.
