Thread: What do you carry?

  1. Default What do you carry?

    I just curious, what do you carry when you open or concealed carry?

    My concealed carry is a M&P40, subcompact. It is very small, I prefer the mags with the pinky extension.... makes it much easier to shoot. At the moment it is Plain Jane. No upgrades yet.

    I only open carry when I am up in the mountains, I don't have much faith or use for open carry in the context of self-defense against two legged adversaries. So for the mountains, I carry my M&P45, fullsize, TLR-2 Streamlight, Lone Wolf compensator, and an improved trigger kit.

    So yeah, I have two "go to" handguns. I plan on getting a M&P22 soon... ish.
    Just because I find your religion silly does not mean I am an atheist.

    When I carry, I carry either a Springfield XDm 9mm or a Bersa Thunder 45. My wife carries a S&W model 60-9 .357 that was ported at the factory. She has a custom purse with a holster, so she is pretty much always armed. If we're out in the woods, it is a S&W 629 light hunter on my hip.

    Currently one of three (all in 9mm for those who don't know):
    * Walther P99
    * Beretta 92FS Inox
    * CZ-75B

    Of the three I probably carry the CZ the most (it's also the heaviest, go figure), followed by the Walther than the Beretta. All are carried in OWB holsters (Highnoon for the CZ and DeSantis for the other two - though I'm considering getting a few more Highnoon holsters - they are just love).

    I'm looking to pick up a Sig P230 in Stainless Steel (West German made) sometime this month in .380 as a BUG and alternate primary firearm for deeper concealment. Not sure what holster option I'm going to go with here; probably going with at least two different types depend on what role it will be filling.

    Up here in the north, We can hunt with rifles...
    Southern tier is shotguns only, slugs only,.... or a pistol, if so licensed...

    With my ole Remington Model 11, I have 5 shots available....
    My .44 mag has 9 shots, 'n better power down range, 'n farther out...
    As well as being more accurate, 'n much lighter...

    Open sights or did you scope it? I don't think I've ever heard of someone hunting deer with a .44 before. My hat is off to you!

    I dunno really. My husband carries something that shoots bullets and he has a holster for it. And I always get a little nervous when we cross state lines.
