One of the reasons for more prisons in Canada, far more modern, not only for the incarcerated but the guards and staff, is to put away bad guys, more around than before, who get their hands on guns.
Guns are not bad in my opinion. The thugs who utilize them for their despicable acts have turned them into bad toys.
At the Toronto Eaton Centre food court a 23 year-old black man, who may never see 30, killed a black Canadian-Somali who might be Muslim if he is religious at all or has come from a religious family. And a buddy was wounded. It seems they belong to the same street-gang.
Bullets sprayed, wounding several people, including a 13 year-old boy in the head. However, the police have stated that the recent violent, egregious shooting spree by one gunman in the food court may be “personal” rather than “gang-related” – even though the perpetrator and victims are with the same gang. The murder of one man and wounding of several innocent bystanders must be because of an argument that is being compartmentalized by the force and mayor, because the city is truly safe.
Crime rates have decreased. Check the statistics.
Now that should make people feel safer. Evidently, it was but an isolated incident. Whew! We can walk the malls and streets without worrying, even if one sees black guys with bandanas or some other kind of lid and knapsacks likely not with books inside. Please don't get nervous. It might scare off the tourists.
So is the police chief trying to go after the bigger fish, those who sell the guns to gangs and individuals with nefarious interest?
This horrible crime brings back the killing of young, intelligent and beautiful Jane Creba on Yonge Street by a gang member, another gang I presume, since there are so many across the country.
As far as I see it, mainly young black guys in Toronto are causing mayhem and havoc; while white guys who belong to different gangs and are as money-hungry could care less, as long as the guns and bullets are paid for to them. Surely, after all these years, the police forces know who is involved and could nail the thugs.
Whoa trigger!!! Not so easy. And there are undercover cops going after the killer whales. I suppose it has also something to do with catching the perps during the crime rather than pre-emption.
The do-gooders ask for more basketball courts and things for single mothers. It’s about the upbringing, lack of funds and fathers who abandon their off-spring while the dear mothers do the best they can. If their children go astray, house arrest will quiet them down.
To me this type of crime, where random bullets injure and kill innocent people, is as fearful as Muslim terrorists and their jihad – one never knows where this isolated event will happen.
Frankly, there are times I think that those who learn how to shoot should be allowed to pack guns legally. Imagine, if people did, then after the first bullet the perp would have had to face guns all around him. But this would be considered vigilante protection by the same hand-wringing types who feel for the poor bad guys who could be rehabilitated.
Eaton Centre shooting was ‘personal,’ not gang-related, say police
