Default what's next?

They want to take guns away, to make them illegle, because 'guns kill people'. First off, guns don't kill people, crazys with guns kill people. If killing people is the only reason to take away guns, then what is next? Knives kill people, so do fire, scissors, dogs, cars, planes, electricity, what will they ban next

I believe everything you mentioned has a purpose other than violence and killing. Guns...I'm not so sure about.

Millions of Americans own guns for self-defense. If someone breaks into your home guns are a great way to make sure they don't hurt anyone.

Additionally. Most of the time, this does not end in death of either the idiot that broke in, nor the home owner.

As to some other purposes for firearms.

Less than lethal rounds. IE pepper ball, fin stabilized rubber baton, bean bag etc. But these rounds do not do well for home defense.

But if those who were breaking into your home did not have a gun, then wouldn't the danger be significantly decreased? There are other methods of self-defense (pepper spray, martial arts, etc.)

If they are willing to break into my home, obtaining a gun illegally would be a much lesser crime to them.

If by crazies you mean angry people. Also, it's not that guns kill people, it's that it makes it soooo much easier. As for other things that kill people, if you rank them by their usefulness-to-society to likelyhood-of-causing-death-ratio, gun bans start to look pretty reasonable. What will they ban next? Probably the next thing on the list.
