Default Supreme Court to Rule on the 2nd Amendment

It is going to be an interesting summer. For the first time ever, the SC is actually going to interpret the 2nd Amendment. Take a look at the USA Today article

It won't matter if they determine that Sates have the authority to ban guns, most [normally] law abiding US citizens will refuse to comply as well as all criminals.

Unfortunitly it would affect quite a few of the law abiding gun owners.

Luckily it looks like this case might swing well for the second amendment. So I guess on that count I'm glad we got Bush in there.

Now if the "real conservatives" can just avoid tossing the supreme court back to the democrats in Novermber...

I do know that some state constitutions guarenttee the right to bear arms, so even if the federal gov. wont protect the right some states will.

Not necessarily the Constitution supersedes any state laws. So if the Supreme Court rules that people don't have a right to bear arms (I don't think that the SC will), the supremacy clause of the Constitution will make it the law of the land

The second Amendment has never been incorporated. (look it up)

This case might do that.

That may be difficult - a lot of them, in order to get revenge on George Bush, who is retiring and couldn't care less, are about to commit Obamination, cutting of their nose to spite their face.

I can't believe the supreme court has ruled that the second amemdment applies to state militias being allowed to use guns. I guess im not too suprised after what has been done to the constition but that is still such a stretch.

What? The constitution could only be interpreted that we do or dont have the right to bear arms, not that we cann't bear arms, just that it isnt protected. The constitution does not give the right to own a car eather, but almost everyone owns one. Only a federal law saying no one can have guns would it undermind the state laws
