I think a tax on ammo could be used to fund homicide investigations.

No that is just ridiculous. The people who are buying up ammo are the responsable gun users. They are the hunters, recreational shooters, or people who train themselves for home defense etc.

Criminals are notoriously bad shots because they aren't out practicing.

Yeah, Cali already tried this. They wanted to put a 5cent tax on each round purchased, it was laughed out.

Stupid, just frigging stupid.

If anything, I think they should offer a tax cut for anyone that receives additional training upon purchasing a firearm.
