I was going for light weight and reliability. In practice, I've found that it is really quite accurate, too. In my situation, if I run up on a bear, it's not likely that I'll have to shoot it, boar is completely different. Very territorial little beasts. I've been hiking the Appalachian for 6 years, and have never needed it. On the range (my sister in laws' property in Alabama) I put all but one in a 10 inch circle at 25 yards. My father in law looked at the pattern, and said "Yup, that's a dead bear". Good enough for me. I'm wondering how accurate I would be with a real bear and a load in my pants.

Tech,

Did you ever rig up the fanny pack with the holster/C-clamp like I carried my 32? I remember you were looking for the right pack.

Not quite like yours. It's just a belt holster that I attached right to the inside of the bag. No tether. It's an old Patagonia bag I already had. Turns out it's the perfect size, even has a zippered pocket on the outside for my permit.

I live in the country and my closest neighbor is over 1/2 a mile away. If someone enters my house and I call the police it will take them over 20 minutes to get there and find the dead body.

I also like to shoot stuff, bottles, cans, opposum, coyotes and other things that wander uninvited onto my property.

Store owner shoots robber during crime

Sunday, April 27, 2008

PACOIMA (KABC) -- A gunman is dead and the search for another suspect is on after an attempted robbery in Pacoima.

It happened Saturday at a liquor store on the 10000 block of San Fernando Road.

Police say two men walked into the store demanding cash.

But when one of the suspects pulled a gun, the owner of the store shot and killed him.

This looks like a pretty good reasons to me.

Wilmington store owner shoots robber

WILMINGTON, De. - February 14, 2008 (WPVI) -- A Wilmington store owner decided to fight fire with fire power last night, during an attempted holdup.

Wilmngton police say four men confronted the owner of BGM Liquor Store on Lombard Street as he locked up. One of the suspects fired a shot at the owner, who has a gun for protection. The owner returned the fire.

It happened at approximately 10:05 pm. Wilmington Police were on another call in the 900 block of N. Pine Street when they heard several gunshots coming from the area of 10th and Pine Streets.

Two officers began running toward the corner store and saw two of the suspects running away from the area. They caught the men in the rear of a home in the 1000 block of Lombard Street, where they were banging on the rear door of a house and yelling "open the door, let me in."

The officers discovered one of the suspects carrying a .22 Cal rifle, police said. The officers then learned BGM Liquor Store had just been robbed by four men.

Later, Wilmington police learned a patient at Chester Crozer Hospital was being treated for a minor gunshot wound to the leg. He said that he was shot in downtown Wilmington in the area of 5th & Orange Streets.

lol I would never shoot anyone because of their politics , I have a shotgun and I love it ... I like shooting old junk cars and bottles and cans. I keep it loaded near my bed ... my kids are grown and out of the house ... when my grandkids come over I put it up locked unloaded and ammo out in the garage, when my gun is unloaded I have these two to protect me !!

First off because I am required to. Next because there are idiots out there that do not obey the law.

Well for one, my job demands I have gun training, so it's too my best interest to have a gun.

Secondly, self defense.
