Herk, don't worry about the thread hijack. It appears to be something of a lost cause anyway.

I have identified at least 5 features on the gun that would show that he is mistaken. If I'm wrong, I'll apologize, but I'm not wrong.

First it was a Custom Carry. Now it is a CDP? Make up your mind.

You can post a pic of the gun outside of the holster, and prove me wrong.

Why when I can continue to know that you are wrong? But to appease you sure, I will get it done soon as I get the chance. But anyway, as an expert you should KNOW that not only Kimbers have a dovetail.

I normally don't download images of another man's wife. So apologies C-D-P.

I downloaded C-D-P's pic and here is a bigger photo of the gun in question.

I hope this helps in the discussion.

No problem brother. Unfortunatly NMCI blocks out all photos from Photobucket. But it makes no nevermind to me.

Well for one thing, on close up, the hammer looks different from the Kimber photo that JLB posted. I am not good at telling one manufacturer from the other. Keeping in mind, I have the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon with the Air Force issued M9 and I own a Springfield XD...beyond this, I'm somewhat clueless.

Custom Carry, as I showed you a picture. Those grips also came on a CDP version called the "RCP".

Please do. If you went to all of that trouble to put all Kimber parts on a Colt, it must be an interesting piece.

I know what a Kimber beaver tail looks like, if that is what you mean, however the dovetail on the sights is another Kimber feature that your wife's pistol has.

Thanks.

That's a Kimber slide, hammer, safety, MIM beaver tail, and mainspring housing. We can see it's also a matte stainless slide and an alloy frame, and the slide has a "melted" look, with distinct rounding of the shgarp areas.

The grips, on closer inspection, look like they could be linen micarta instead of the limited edition grips. The sights could be a bar-dot style.

It looks to be a Kimber Ultra CDP or a larger Pro CDP.

Note the identical slide serrations, contour of the top of the slide, distinctive Kimber hammer and MIM beaver tail, and the mainspring housing.

Note how the hammer on this one is identical to his weapon:

Cocked Kimber hammer:

Same as his gun.

The upsweep on the beaver tail is identical too.

Is it just a wild a coincidence that I have now identified the gun in question as a Kimber CDP, and the guy who owns it has the user name of CDP?

What are the odds of that?
