Why do they need to show a "legitimate reason" to exercise freedom?

Couldn't eveyone be a gun collector?

Until the government decides to take them away entirely.

Focusing the attention on the handgun regristration which barely anyone has a problem with is a complete waste of time.
The first thing a totalitarian government does is register guns, so when they decide to take away the rest of your freedoms, they know right where to go first.

A "right" does not require leniency to exist. It exists on it's own, and a government can choose to violate that right, as most socialist countries do, or get out of the way.

Btw, why would a "school shooter" say he was defending himself when he attacked unarmed people?

If the rule became "only collectors can buy multiple handguns", no doubt everyone would become a "collector", regardless of their intentions.

JLB. Do you agree with the current requirement of background checks?

Notice how the farther down the list you go, the smaller their balls get.

The instant check with no record that is kept that the NRA came out with suits me fine. It denies the criminal, and also denies the potential greater enemy (the government).

What is a criminal? Is there a lifetime limitation contained inside the Second Amendment?

If we don't want killers walking the street with guns, they should remain locked up. But once you've served you time for whatever crime was committed, your guns should be handed back the day you walk free.

Don't like the idea of known drug users walking around armed - STOP ELECTING KNOWN DRUG USERS TO THE TOP JOB IN AMERICA AND GIVING HIM NUCLEAR WEAPONS!!

Keep in mind Martha Stewart is a lifetime prohibited person

So, what you are (not really, but thanks for the fun) saying is that as an instrument, guns are not necessarily dangerous?

You are so casual in taking away the enjoyment out of somebody's life and then so unabashed by your willingness to control the way somebody else lives their life.

Oh, and the so-called "profanity filter" is not the computer.

I love guns....but what Obama said was 100% true.

If I were him I wouldn't have apologized for it because all he did was speak the truth.

Not only are alot (not all) of these people bitter, but they are simple minded as well.
