Default If you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns

Guns aren't going to just disappear, they will always be there. There is such thing as a responsible gun owner, one who owns a gun(in a safe location) to protect themselves.

Sure professor. We'll get right on that. Just as soon as we wrap up the other 200 threads on this topic.

And if you create laws to be able to enforce laws, then the police might be able to put a stop to people before they become a problem.

nah, too many times the police just can't come in time for certain emergency situations. However they are useful in cleaning up after the fact.

the police are a bandaid for cancer

So your answer is to strip away one more piece of the constitution?

You mean a document that means nothing to me but is just a scrap of paper?

As to your question though, i do not support full gun control, just certain measures and allowing the police to enforce those measures.

There are responsible gun owners. There are idiot gun owners and there many shades in between. Effective gun control balances out the competing interests and responsible gun owners aren't frightened of it.

Guns are not the problem so much as criminals which will never be eliminated. Criminals will always find something to use as a weapon. Say we destroy all guns, they'll use knives. We destroy all knives. They start using bats, we ban and destroy bats. Where does it stop?!

Stop the criminal not an inanimate object!
