Ignorance is bliss. Learn your history please, you are the one who makes society a dangerous place to live in. The gun owner preserves rights, while you invoke to remove those rights, and the tyranny is capable of mass murder. You are no better then a Nazi, and your ideology will be responsible for deaths.

There really is no proof of that. Australia has a lot less guns and just check out our crime rates

Australia does not border Canada and Mexico, and it does not have politicians that embrace open borders and illegal immigrants.

Australia is surrounded by Asia including Indonesia - you know that place where the bombs have been going off. We have a great big northern shore with about 4 ruddy naval patrols - do the math.

But it does not matter - you cannot simultaneously claim that more guns make you safer based on some (questionable) stats that those states with more guns have less crime and then turn around and say "Oh but our crime rate is higher because we are caught between Canada and Mexico!!"

America's crime rate is higher because of criminals, not law following citizens with guns. Taking them from us will only make us helpless to defend ourselves from the criminals. Oh wait, we should wait on the govt. to come to our houses at 3AM when an armed intruder kicks in the front door. by the way, every state that has passed a concealed weapons permit law allowing qualified citizens to carry has seen a large decrease in violent crime.

Last I checked, Australia does not share a land border with Indonesia. That is completely different from protecting a border with Mexico, which is notorious for not enforcing what comes into their country. Moreover our own politicians embrace illegal immigrants and open borders. You cannot really compare two recent bombings in Indonesia with a drug war that has been going on here for decades. A drug war that has intensified due to American bureaucrats' increasingly lax attitude towards strengthening our borders. No one here really disagrees that in the United States, populations with greater concentrations of law-abiding gun owners generally have fewer victims of violent crime.

Godwins Rule!!!

Godwin's Law (also known as Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies)[1] is a humorous observation coined by Mike Godwin in 1990, and which has become an Internet adage. It states: "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."[2][3]

Quote:
Godwin's Law is often cited in online discussions as a deterrent against the use of arguments in the widespread reductio ad Hitlerum form. The rule does not make any statement about whether any particular reference or comparison to Adolf Hitler or the Nazis might be appropriate, but only asserts that the likelihood of such a reference or comparison arising increases as the discussion progresses. It is precisely because such a comparison or reference may sometimes be appropriate, Godwin has argued,[4] that overuse of Nazi and Hitler comparisons should be avoided, because it robs the valid comparisons of their impact.
