Nah I usually put on a fireworks show for my family on the 4th of July but those are just paper and powder. I don't think your dynamite makes all the pretty colors I'm looking for.

Well these are not fireworks these are reactive targets. Shooting fireworks with a rifle would not be the same thing. To set these off one must them with a bullet from a rifle. Increasing ones distance to the target makes it more of a challenge to hit them.
Not much of a challenge to put a match to a firecracker and chuck it to the ground, or put a match to a bottle rocket and watch it go up.

When I read "Recreational use of explosives" I just had to read this thread. Now I'm all for the right to bear arms, but the right to bear hand grenades isn't one I support. Do we really need to blow up everything that hasn't already collapsed from all of the bullet holes?

Does that sound like a responsible gun owner? I'm sorry, but if you hide behind the Constitution for the sake of acting like an irresponsible child then you're a lost cause.

This is pretty much exactly the case behind gun-control laws; Idiots wanting to play with guns = Needless accidental deaths.


Let's do a logic test:

The more likely you are to "play" with guns and explosives the (more / less) likely you are to hurt yourself and others.

What is irresponsible with that? Some people "play" with their parachutes when they go skydiving, some people play with their Ferarris when they do the Bubblegum race. If i'm being amused and it's recreation, I consider that play.
You keep using the definition that means reckless behavior, while our friend was using the definition of occupying oneself with an amusing recreation.
You are just using the semantics of the word "play". People that "play" football don't do it recklessly, people that play hockey wear pads, people that play with guns do so safely ( or, at least, the use of the word play doesn't negate that it's being done responsibly )
