Default The Medicare Boondoggle

June 1st marked the day that those Medicare "discount" prescription cards became active. What a mess!

Judy Woodward had Tommy Thompson (head of health and human services)
on her CNN show and the poor guy had to try and flog this program to the people.

The people ain't buyin' it. He crowed that 2.8 million Americans had signed up so far. That made me wonder how many were the low-income seniors who had been signed up "automatically", and bless her heart, Judy said "but isn't it true that 2.3 Million of them were signed up automatically and may not even understand it or want to participate"?

Poor Tommy had to admit her numbers are correct, but then he smiled and said 'but 500,000 people have signed up for it and it's a great program......yada yada yada".

I feel bad for the guy, having to push a dog like that insurance and pharmaceutical company give-way as "a good program".
Just more corporate welfare from the 'w' regime.

Default Boy...

...and to think this guy could be back in Wisconsin running for the Senate against Feingold, or still serving as governor.

I wonder what kind of perks you get as a cabinet secretary?

When people get older(i am) they don't like complicated and hassle and this program has much more than it's share of that.

It's hard enough for seniors to pick out the right socks to wear, how in the world will they get through the options involved? Answer, they wont!
