Thread: Why do women live longer than men?

  1. Default

One of the leading causes of death in the United States is heart disease. Men are more prone to heart disease (women produce estrogen which is a protective factor). Also, as a previous poster noted, women go to their health care provider sooner when they do get sick and they use more preventive care. Women also use their social support networks which are a protective factor for stress -- stress of course contributes to many illnesses.

Women continue to have a longer life expectancy than men, although in some parts of the country the gap between the sexes is narrowing fast. The ONS found that between 2004-06 and 2008-10 the average life expectancy for a female rose by a year to 82.3, while for men it rose by 1.2 years to 78.2.

82.3 to 78.2. Hardly what you'd call a gap to begin with, is it.

What a sexist thread. You old coffin dodgers want to man up and realise women do almost everything men do these days regarding work and no doubt they do it better. Probably y'all die sooner because you drink too much beer or some such.

Yes, I'm demonstrating equality with the sexist "alpha" males in the thread.

How was the original intent of the poster sexist?

ya there's the obvious risk factor for men, there is also testosterone. Hormones cause cancer and other illnesses, and I suppose are linked to the "risk" factor as well.

If we follow the equality of outcomes favored by leftists then there is clearly a problem with discrimination against men. And, lbaming the victim isn't allowed.

  9. Default I feel

I feel victimized by genes, down with genes! I want to know what Obama is doing to fix this problem and when he will present a solution! I feel inferior to women, I am a victim, please hold my hand!
