Your picture of the banana is completely irrelevant. It's a banana... not a penis. If i wanna see what a circumcized penis looks like, I can look in the mirror.

Indeed, a layer of callus is formed -- that is the body's answer to cutting of the foreskin that protected the penis in the first place.

Result: a decrease in sensitivity downunder.

It is not that I'm *against* circumcision all together, I think the individual should make that choice for himself.

My parents had me circumcized as a baby. I'm glad they did. I've been in situations where its been beneficial for me. If they had waited until I was old enough to make the choice on my own, I probably wouldnt have, simply because I wouldn't want to deal with the pain.

I also think it's funny that some scream murder and fire about "religious freedom" -- mostly with Juduaism in their backminds. Well, my answer to them is that a circumcision doesn't make a Jew -- and they can still get one after they turn 18 y.o. out of their own choice. What about the men who are born into a Jewish family and then, at a certain point in their lives (e.g. at university), stop believing in Jaweh and all of that mess?

I'm an atheist. My parents (who are also atheists) decided to have me circumcized. Me defending the practice has absolutely nothing to do with religion.

Fact.....
The AMA's position is that circumcision does have certain benefits, but not enough to warrant an across the board recommendation. They also say that being uncircumcized does have certain benefits, but not enough to warrant an across the board condemnation of the practice. End result, they say it should be left up to the parents.

I'll trust an association of doctors on medical issues before I trust a random internet poster.

I also found out today that San Francisco put the qabash on the Circumcision ban. Must be loads of jews in San Fran.
