Default Private Health Care

I've been thinking about this long and hard for while and i just can't see 1 reason other than selfishness why people would want a private health system. This is probably why conservatives want one because lets face it, the core of conservatism is selfishness.

I think you nailed it. Conservatives are being exceptionally selfish for wanting to pay for their own health care. They should learn to be more generous and make everyone else pay for it. Er, wait a sec... maybe that doesn't make sense...

Question: what's more selfish... not wanting to work to pay for other's needs, or demanding that others work to pay for your own?

Default Tut, selfish

Why should you pay less just because you don't get as sick as someone else? Health care is a necessity not a luxury and thefore all should have the right for equal access to it. Where's the fairness in you get better treatment because you've got more money.

Oh and I'm not demanding others to pay for my health care. I've used a hospital once in my life and the doctors at most 10. I can see that just paying for me would be completely selfish and therefore when i have to pay taxes i won't complain. Because Ive got the NHS .

Default fair

headless, you say "why should you pay less just because you don't get as sick as someone else?" well, i ask you why shouldn't i pay less if i don't get as sick as someone else? you speak of fairness, but it seems just as unfair to me if i have to pay the same amount as someone who regularly goes to the hospital. the fairness argument is a two-edged blade, it would seem. fairness only depends on your point of view.

Default Health care system

Is a fiasco. If you look at Canada, it should be self explanatory. This story came Thur just last week> A Canadian had Gastric Bypass surgery. The Government and everyone else's taxes paid for that. Not to mention other people that really needed to get in for surgeries that were important had to wait. (at an average they wait 6 weeks or more) because this FAT OVER EATING GLUTTON CAN"T STOP PUTTING FOOD IN HIS MOUTH!! And before anyone gets on there soapbox. He did not get fat because of a disorder, disease, accident etc. They made a point to say he could not stop putting food in his mouth. So he wanted a quick fix, instead of exercise and diet. NOW, he wants the government and of course the peoples taxes, to pay for the removal of the excess skin that was left from, to quickly of weight loss. (which is very common with drastic weight loss)

Tax money should go only on necessary things. If the skin is causes pain, fair enough. If it is strictly cosmetic then no he should pay for it.

Pixie, please. Jonny do you think i should pay for my time with police because i get mugged more than you? Exactly the same, both necessary.

Default In a Perfect World

This would be great, but that not the situation nor would it be. I would not want to pay $8.00 a half Gallon for milk. My buddy just bought a case of Beer in Canada it was $23.00. A pizza from Dominoes or any other pizza place for that matter runs $22.00 or more for a large 1 topping. the cost of living over there is OUT OF CONTROL!! They flood over the border to get to a Sams Club to load up. Gas is Cheaper here also. A lot of Canuks make there own beer because they can not afford to buy it at the stores. All this because of ALL the special programs and the national Health care. Yes it would be great to say you have to pay for your own cosmetic surgery. THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!! Then there would be people suing to have sex change operations, Then it would be ON AND ON AND ON. I could go on for an hour. Its a Nightmare

Default The price of living?

But look how much the police puts on your cost of living. If everyone had to pay for there fires to be put out, had to pay to drive on roads, had to pay the police for them to find out who robbed you then there'd be NO taxes! The price of living would dramatically drop. For a VERY short time. Off course this would completely drop the power that the government has. This would slice up the country into clans (or business's as some people call them) meaning the country would be ruled by the man with most money. Un-privatizing health-care is a step forward for democracy.

Default And Again

In a perfect world. But the police and fire are set prices. There is a budget that is worked out for that. Basically because they are not a HUGE expense, like Health Care. Police and Fire are also paid LOCALLY not NATIONALLY. Each City, Town, State. They are paid a certain amount. Example: Police officer will make 30,000 yr. etc. the Doctor on the other hand will make 100,000 + a year. there are more doctors and nurses then cops and fire. Not to mention all the other costs that go with the Hospitals which are endless to mention. Having the government screw that up would be HORRIBLE. Putting a Doctor on a low salary and or Base salary, would have Doctors quitting in DROVES. There would be no incentive for them to spend 8 to !0 years in school. Why would you spend that amount of time in school and make 30,000 a yr? (thats an example) The nursing field went Thur this 15 to 20 yrs ago. They were under paid for a crappy job. NOW there is pretty good money in it, only because there is a SHORTAGE. It would be great to have a system for everyone that would work, but that will never happen for the reasons i have spoken of. Clinton was in 8 Years and still NO health care system. Hillary came up with HMO"S. And I think we all no what a Freaking NIGHTMARE that is.
