Who knows? Worshipers of Jesus are paying unknowing devotion to Mithras/Sol Invictus now and the Roman Catholics get strung out on Isis worship (Maryology).

My point, however, is that the Germanic barbarians, being less cultured, would have eventually assimilated to whatever the religion of the more cultured Roman Empire would have been at the time of contact (though, in the absence of Jesus, this would have been something other than Christianity).
