Liberals' appeasing make the holocaust not part of "history"

This is an abomination.

In particular settings, teachers of history are unwilling to challenge highly contentious or charged versions of history in which pupils are steeped at home, in their community or in a place of worship,” it concluded.

However, it was concerned that this could lead to divisions within school, and that it might also put pupils off history.

The holocaust was glossed over with minimal mention when I was in grammar school and high school. It was never really taught in any class I had until college, where my very liberal history teacher spent much time discussing it.

To be honest, I'm not so sure it is great subject matter for pre-high school students.

Back in school, I didn't pay attention much, but the holocaust I remember made a big impact on me. Maybe you went to a school that was just not too strong on the subject. I feel that if people can talk about keeping black people in forced labor, you can learn about it about the Jews' forced labor. Plus the deaths ofcourse. It's the same idea. You know what I mean.

If you look at the Crusades the most likely people to have their feelings hurt are Christians. They kinda screwed those wars up.

Does it say how widespread this is? I mean from what the article said this could have been one school or system wide...

oh those (*)(*)(*)(*) liberals, they're out to ruin everyone's fun. You know one would think something like the holocaust would be one of the few areas where a left/right line doesn't have to be draw, but once again this board proved me wrong.

Now if I were to act like most people on this forum I would start spouting crap about how the nazis were on the right so therefore the GOP is somehow equivalently...

yeah, they should go into how native americans were killed off, and how land was taken from mexico, too. these are all interesting subjects i would've enjoyed in elementary school very much.

Seems to be a (*)(*)(*)(*) point every Columbus day to remind everyone how bad the Spanish where to the poor natives.

Every MLK day or near enough its how slavery was bad etc.

Every time you get into the mid/late 1800's theres alot of emphasis now on how the Indians suffered.

Mention the Alamo and you'll get the nasty USA taking Mexican land.

Its the disgusting effects of PC and the placating of morons.

Well, I am loaded with BAD history of every country. I can really make
any country look bad by bringing up their own actions in history, which
by the way, we are suppose to forget.

Well, I don't forget it, in fact some of the things that europe did was silly and very shame full
especially when I bring them up, because I have a way of looking at it in a very humorist way.
boy some of the things Europe has done in the past, you would think they was smoking something.
or else when it comes to stupidity their loaded with it. I guess stupidity is an abundant commodity?.
But I think their stuck with it because there's no market for it.

It's the same old 'revisionist-history' the libs are known for.
...and forget about all that ancient history - look at 911.
When was the last time you saw the inages on TV?
My 16 year old says they don't really discuss in her public school at all.
Might offend the camel-riders.......
