Default FOR SALE

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7014220.stm

Quote:
A rare copy of the Magna Carta, the document that enshrined human rights in English law, is to be sold in New York.

The copy owned by the Perot Foundation is expected to fetch more than $20m (£9.94m), auctioner Sotheby's says.

The copy on sale, dating from 1297, was bought by Ross F Perot in 1984 and is the only one in private ownership.
I believe JFK quoted from the magna carta in his acceptance speech.

A cool document to own if you are into politics.

No - but I heard a billionaire is interested in the tower of london and tower bridge. Dismantle them and move them to Florida. And this would include the crown jewels.

We already tricked you with Tower Bridge - better watch out we don't scam you again

In 1968, an American, Robert P McCulloch paid $2.5 million dollars to buy London Bridge under the mistaken belief that he was buying Tower Bridge. The then London Bridge was taken down, transported to America and reconstructed at Lake Havasu City in Arizona. (A new London Bridge was opened in London in 1973). D'OH!!

Someone once said the Americans have the money but the British have the brains. Of course thats not entirely true - is it?
