Malta! Erwin Rommel would have won North Africa if supplies would have been able to get to him. Hitler would not attack the small island held by the british, thus cutting off the supply lines to the Afrika Korps. and causing the blitzkrieg to fail. If Rommel would have won in Africa he would have been able to move through the Middle East and flank Russia. The sad part is, is if the Nazis would have attacked Moscow instead of Stalingrad and Leningrad, the Germans would have won anyway.

It is my opinion, that if Hitler would have attacked Moscow he would have won on TWO fronts anyway.

thats true. but what was Germany doing in N africa to begin with???? Hitler wanted no part of Africa. it wasn't in his plans. he went there to rescue his bungling ally in Rome. the Italians took on the brits and got slaughtered. el duce yelled rape and Hitler had to bail him out.

The correct answer is jealousy. Hitler went to war because he was jealous of the wealth and freedoms the allies had.

well. he did want Russia to establish a new and bigger Germany. he called it breathing room.

Hitler lost the war due to substantial military losses while trying to conquer Russia.

By avoiding the attack on Russia, he would have won the war since there was no real power to confront him, not even the USA.

I think the main two reasons Germany lost were much basic than a couple of tactical errors.

1. Hitler insisted on making all strategy decisions himself, but he was an inept tactician.

2. The Allies succeeded in cutting Germany off from most sources of raw materials and destroying most of their war-related productions facilities. while the US was able to produce massive quantities of weapons and equipment.
