Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." - Thomas Jefferson
"If you are ashamed to stand by the colors, you had better seek a different flag." - Unknown American Patriot
"If you're gonna burn the flag in protest, save the pole and bend over, because I know just where I'll put it." - I just made that up.
I regret that I have but one life to give for my country." - Nathan Hale
Mormons, no offense to you religious people, are a bunch of morons that believe what one guy said one day in America that everyone should believe. That's it. If you believe in that crap, you are simply believing what your family taught you to believe when you were growing up. Now that you are an adult, and now that you can read this message board, try doing some research on faith, and religion, and making your own decision. Only reason you are Mormon is because mommy and daddy were.

From reading the girls story kidnapping is an exageration. The guys showed up, said her mom was sending her off to the same camp that her brother had been sent to, packed her bags, and took her through the airport.
She just went along. I'm sure that, especially in the airport, she could have made a stink and gotten cops involved or whatever.
So not kidnapping. Child abuse or child endangerment? Probably. From the wiki it sounds like the whole operation has folded under litigation, so this is mostly a historical discussion. Though I suppose something similar may have just popped up to fill the void.
Well, it was certainly a troubled youth camp.
And the teen in telling her story certainly had some issues. She mentions drugs, but implies more.
Regardless that doesn't mean they didn't also have an anti-gay mentality. Though I suppose the OP is being a bit dramatic with the thread title.
