Of systematic abuse, I'd reckon:
Many of the former Soviet republics. Too many are still headed by dictators, and the old Soviet system is still well etched out in them. I applaud the Baltic states in this regard, they have managed to distance themselves from their Soviet past well. |

I agree about the issues in the former soviet republics. I think too many of them are headed by people who still THINK they are dictators. They are having a difficult time with the transistion to capitalism. Look at the situation of the corruption in Russian business right now.
The baltic states are a pretty good example of a good transition from Communism. They are are doing particular good, mainly because they have a lot to offer in terms of direct investment oppurtunities and low taxes. The Czech republic is not doing too bad now either, after a pretty shaky couple of years. |

I just want to say I am not saying America is the worst country, I mean there are so many other countries that are totally inhuman and disgusting but i just find it interesting that the child protection act, which prohibites inhuman treatment, torture and unsounds interogation tactics was signed by every developed country in the world apart from Somalia and America. So no way am i saying tha America is the worst, But i find it so weird that they are so quick to take the moral high ground by denouncing countries as evil and in human. so yeh thats a little of the subject but it's kinda weird, or so I thought

I'd have to go with a more broader answer and say most countries in the Middle East...and not just because of 9/11. I am actually going with this answer because of the gross neglect of even the most basic of human rights of women in those countries.
