Really? How do you reach this conclusion?

Was the electric chair designed so as not to cause pain? How about the gas chamber? Weren't both those ruled unconstitutional by the courts because they cause pain?

yes. because they did cause pain... and as you so kindly pointed out, there use was discontinued.

And because both these methods were outlawed, it is possible the same could be said for the lethal injection, if it is indeed deemed to cause pain.

It might. however it would be very difficult to prove, anyway the fact that it could be painful is beside the point. If a criminal believes you could kill him, he'll think twice before he kills others.

I'm glad the supreme court recently invoked a strict policy on who could die under death penalty rules. To me there's only two significant crimes.
Robbery, and murder. Now, some robbery is more authentically brutal then others. Credit card fraud for example is much more serious then say: Taking someone's valuables from their home. And the death penalty should be considered now that person A has horrible credit, lost his house, and is living at mommy and daddy's.. So I'm not against the death penalty, but I'm against vague laws that don't really draw the line between acceptable and unacceptable behavior.. And also: I hope to God it's painful. Criminals deserve no less. They do nothing but inflict pain on others. They deserve no mercy, no sympathy, no second chances for their evil deeds. ![]() Last edited by Jim Profit; 07-03-2008 at 02:02 PM. |

Murder and robbery are crimes fit for the death penalty?
What about rape, or pedophilia?
