The prisoner is put to sleep first with sodium pentothal. It is the same drug they use to induce a coma. They don't feel a thing as people who have been put into an induced coma do not recall anything that happened while they were in the coma.

I would like to see every guilty B fried but sometimes they get it wrong and jail the wrong person I would hate to see one of these put to dealth while the real guilty party was free to kill again. So I don't know what I would do.

Make it irrefutable that they are guilty like an admission or DNA evidence before you execute them. We DO get it wrong sometimes and yes, that bothers me. But then again, that's why we have the appeals process that we do. Supposedly if a man is truly innocent, the appeals process should be able to clear him. Like all other systems, though, this too is flawed.

Well, if you are against the death penalty on the grounds that innocent people can get convicted, your above sentence makes no sense at all. After all, there are many guilty pleas that are the result of someone running out of money to pay their lawyers or else their lawyers being too (*)(*)(*)(*)ed lazy to put up a vigorous defense of their client. Besides, when plea bargaining, the prosecutor usually takes the death penalty (or whatever else might have been the maximum sentence) off the table.

And how exactly do you know that no-one sentenced to life without parole has ever escaped? Do you have a list of all prison escapees with their original sentences? Or any other evidence to prove your assertions?

I also vote for Makedde for mod. She's one hot lesbian, she's smart too, and the fact that she's from Australia means she can do her modding while all the other mods are asleep.

Good heavens, man, the whole purpose of having a system of justice is to get revenge on evil-doers. What the hell do you want us to do with our criminals, love them to death?

Just think! If we had excuted more than 42 people (preferably a lot more), we could have opened up a lot more space for new prisoners!

This is of course blatantly false. The purpose of our criminal justice system is to protect society from the actions of individuals which harm other members of society.

This is exemplified by at least two different actions:

1) Individuals are judged by an impartial jury and, if convicted, they are sentenced by an impartial judge.

2) The sentence of "life without the possibility of parole" is only imposed when an individual is deemed so dangerous to society that any possibility of them ever being released presents a serious threat to society.

The fact remains that every government empowered to murder people has unquestionably murdered innocent people. The murder of innocent people is wrong whether it is done by the individual or by society as a whole.
