Of course that include the many bridges and overpases that are in need of repair according to Fox news. plus property damage by hurricanes ect.

I'm sure glad fuel taxes is paying for all of this, otherwise the states would be in TROUB...???
are you that far removed from facts and reality?

oo! dear me! someone other than myself has contacted a Congressman !

I've also contacted numerous senator's, a few governors, and even numerous politicians on the local level...

So what? What else have you done to make a difference?

When will you put some money where your mouth is?

Have you spent any money to spread the word (no matter if its right or left )

Have you done ANYTHING to improve the situation?

or are you like 99% of the cry babies on these political forums just whimpering and sitting there complaining
while you wait for others to think you are smart enough to know what you are saying?

I have a question for you:
what does money earmarked to offset the cost of cancer have to do with overpasses?

What does that gun represent? your wish to own one one day?

and about your post - that's a bunch of bull ...

Show some stats backing that blatant lie ....

that's the problem with people like you

you run off at the mouth about stuff you know NOTHING about and think you have an informed vote!

this is the second of your posts which are filled with incorrect stories

people like you who contact congressman are part of the problem as to why they won't listen to the average person.

They are tired of the incorrect thinking that feeds the liberals fodder that still doesn't hit your ability to think

I got a newsflash for ya junior,
In 1964 I got a letter saying report to your draft location that same year I was shipped to a little paradise called Veit Nam in the infantry if you have any concept what that means.

In 1967 I came back and started marching with some others about a thing called civil rights, then in my spare time I got with some other Veit Nam vets and hit the streets to protest the war. I even marched with a lot of people for Pro choice and that crap Nixon pulled.

I've done my time on the front lines in the streets, and got the scars from nightsticks to prove it, so don't flash no crap about stats and contacts with senators and congressmen.

Now this is supposed to be a thread about Smoking being made illegal or not.
And everyone has the right to express their opinion according to the rights stated on the bill of rights unless the Republican party manage to change that as well.

So, if you got a problem with my post you can take it to the moderators, you can take it to the congressman you E-mail from your home or you can step off I have more important issues to address.
PS. DIDN'T WANT THE BIG BAD GUN TO SCARE YOU.

  1. I'm not a snitch - are you?
  2. don't talk down to me - my PROBLEM was with your inability to utilize FACTS - when you fail to present facts it messes up those who can't defeat me with facts - just like the points in your post - I will call you on it ... like I did! The way any man is supposed to do.

as far as the use of that goofy little gun ... I was trying to understand what it represented!

WHERE IS THE FACT TO THIS??

"Poor people smoke the most"
What does that mean? Is that like saying Italians eat more meatballs or Mexicans eat more beans or blacks eat more hog maws.

TELL ME that isn't a bunch of bull! ... it's all about poor people smoking - whatever!

JUST FOR THE RECORD: your comment about the Lear Jet ... the ONLY Lear Jet I am aware is the one OBAMA took the American Flag Off - as in the ONE HE OWNS that HE TOOK TO HAWAII!

IN CASE YOU FORGOT - here is your statement:

Well, poor people get bored too, and unfortunatly taking the lear jet to the islands is not an option
See That? You are trying to toss Obama's stunt in MY FACE ...

WHAT'S false about that?

NOT A THING ...
hey Private - you shot yourself in the foot with that!

There you go AGAIN with your LIBERAL B.S.
Insinuating that I may have implied that the taxes from cigarettes is something other than what it is (a ton of money) - what does the fact that a LOT of money is collected from tobacco have to do with this comment by you in post #1110?
Quote:
Now in some states without cigarette taxes that big pot hole in front of that restuarant might not get fixed, and if the snow should come the road to that restuarant might not get salted so cars could get to it.
FACT IS: the tax on tobacco is spent to educate people against tobacco and to subsidize the costs accrued by the government because of the inability of people to pay for their medical.
So - you were wrong! ... not me!
you think respect comes from making false statements?
and that isn't a false statement?

OK - I'LL DO YOUR LIBERAL JOB ... Here is where it is supposedly going:
  1. SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE LINK)--May 25, 1995--Yesterday, the American Lung Association and American Cancer Society won another legal victory in the ongoing battle over the expenditure of Prop. 99 tobacco tax funds.
  2. (the link) Ned Roscoe and his dad, John, are discount cigarette store mavericks leading the effort to repeal the new tobacco tax earmarked for childhood development programs.
  3. (the link) The State of Oregon sued tobacco companies this week to recover more money under the 1998 Master Settlement Agreement (MSA). That agreement, signed by Oregon and 45 other states, requires the four largest tobacco companies to pay specified amounts each year to the settling states, ostensibly as reimbursement for the costs of treating smoking-related illnesses.
  4. (the link) Tobacco tax for health care loses
Posted by The Oregonian November 06, 2007 22:00PM
In the face of a $12 million campaign blitz by tobacco makers, Oregon voters rejected a cigarette tax increase that would have raised money for uninsured children and other health care needs.

The 3-to-2 vote against Measure 50, which would have increased Oregon's cigarette tax by 85 cents a pack, caps the most expensive political campaign in Oregon history and follows similar defeats in Missouri and California last year.

Smokers dont "suffer" because they dont get to make other people breath in their smoke...they suffer because they have an addiction that inteferes with their life and needs to be satisfied so often it makes being out "in the world" difficult for them.

Its their own personal habit, they can restrict it to their own personal spaces and outdoors, its not that hard. They also dont have to go out to eat right? Endangering the health of other people just isnt acceptable, endangering their own IS...hence the restrictions. They are simply restricted to keeping the habit personal and not sharing it.
The stupidest restriction is requiring non-smoking bars. Do you seriously mean to tell me that people who habitually ingest a gyawdawful tasting substance that kills their brain cells and rots out their liver cells are such health nuts that they need to be "protected" from my cigarette smoke when 80% of them are smokers too? Just more evidence of liberals' inability to think with their brains.

Do you seriously believe that alcoholics "keep their habit to themselves" and do not "share" their habit? That's funny, because most bar fights I've ever seen were started by a bunch of obnoxious drunkards. Rarely does being under the influence of nicotine cause one to start some pissed off bar fight.

SO factory owners should also be able to determine if they provide safety goggles etc as well?

We should just leave up to business owners to determine how safe or healthy they wish to make the work environment for employees?
