I only believe those people who intentionally damage their bodies should pay for their medical treatment - people who get breast cancer, or kids with cancer shouldn't have to pay, because their lifestyle choices didn't lead to them becoming ill.

Those people who smoke, drink, are obese etc are higher risk patients. They are likely to take longer recovering from surgery than a non smoker/drinker and someone who is a healthy weight. There is more risk of the surgery going wrong etc - insurance premiums for these people should be higher, to cover the risk.

And in my opinion everyone should have to pay for their own health insurance. That way no one is being treated special. If you could, can you please go back and address some of the earlier points others made against your stance on smoking?

Someone put it well in a letter to the editor the other week: 'The smokers have had it their way for years, now it's our turn!'

Sounds fair to me. You've had your way for years, now it's time for non smokers to have it their way.

Private owners were excempt from these new anti amoking laws - it's those business which are franchises that were made to ban smoking.
