I will probably get attacked here, but we raise one cow a pig a year. We take them to a butcher and he fixes us right up. We split it with another couple and we have the best pork and steaks for all year.
It isn't cheap, but it is cheaper in the long run and the steaks are great.
But, we have also HAD to hunt deer and eat to survive for the first year or two of our marriage. There isn't one thing wrong with hunting.

yep , we have a freezer too...

A good friend of mine raises beefs , and I split a beef with another friend every year , and a local processing business cuts it up and wraps it...

Ditto for the sausage & bacon & pork chops....

It's a much better quality of beef & pork that what you can buy in the grocery store , and NO steroids...and NO growth hormones
