What do you mean not hardly? It is the Administration's job to administer, not change the law. The Patriot Act was passed by Congress, which is the legal way to do it. What Obama did was outside of legislation, or to put it bluntly, outside of his jurisdiction to just decide to ignore the law and do what he wants.Originally Posted by FreshAir

The only way we would know if civilians were being spied on or have been subjected to unreasonable searches etc would be if they reported it, and or if a lawsuit was filed against the government. So far, I have yet to see or have yet to hear of any such cases. Do you have any knowledge of such a case?

When you hand the government the ability to grab any"thing" it wants and do it while issuing a legal gag orders so that no one can reveal their actions without going to jail, then liberty has died.

Look, the only time I favor the govt is with anything military or with anything to do with our national defense as outlined in our Constitution. So I see you still didn't find me a civilian abuse by our Patriot Act. It ain't gonna happen; Patriot Act is used to stop terrorist plans and or attacks, period.

Oh really? Do you want my credit card number as well, afterall, according to you I should be willing to accept the overreach of govt to investigate my every private endeavor and freedom. Perhaps the govt could legally tap into my crdit card by calling it another form of wealth redistribution by the obama administration. Where and when does this govt overreach end, or does it?
