I was surprised to see a German market open up in the Midwest (they've opened locations in St. Cloud, MN and Elk River, MN, both near where I used to live), but then they aren't as European or otherwise impressive as they could be IMO. I just looked them up to get some details:

In the United States, Aldi Nord is the parent company of the Trader Joe's niche food stores[citation needed], while Aldi Süd operates the regular Aldi stores in the country.

I wish they were a more European market, though, offering imported goods. I didn't see that when I stopped in at the Elk River location. I'd love to find this for sale in the US:
