I have become incredibly disheartened over the current state of voting in America. So often I hear people professing their support for a particular candidate, but when they are asked for a valid reason, they are unable to give one. As it becomes more and more apparent that very few people actually take the time to become informed about politics, potential candidates, and current issues, this up coming presidential election has begun to look like a popularity contest. So I ask you – why continue this charade? If America is looking for a popularity contest then I throw my support behind none other than, the Fresh Prince – Will Smith. He has the charisma of a Kennedy, the good looks of a Reagan, AND he'll dominate the black vote (pastor review pending). What’s not to like? Sure he doesn’t have political experience or qualification, but who really does? Obama apparently is under qualified, Hillary is too capital hill, and McCain is too old. What do these three have that Mr. Smith doesn’t? Perhaps I haven’t gone far enough. On the other hand, it’s been proven that being more popular doesn’t always get you too far. (See Al Gore). If perhaps you do wish to become at least marginally informed, may I suggest going to a site like votechooser.com and at least see which candidate’s views are best aligned with your own.
