I think the Illuminati get a bad press. We have depended on them for centuries and they have always been there for us, but now they are barely hanging on in a very competitive market.

They are being squeezed out of their traditional position as the controlling-establishing force of new world orders. Increasingly they are being replaced in people's minds by the Jews, Bush and The Neo-Cons, Osama and the Head-Cutters, and a host of other pretenders to the title.

Im getting a bit fed up with these johnny-come-latetlies; lets get back to our roots and restore The Illuminati to their rightful position. Im tired worrying about those other guys, I WANT TO WORRY ABOUT THE ILLUMINATI AGAIN.....IT COMFORTS ME.

I'm with you. I've been trying to get an illuminatti card for years. Can't seem to get in the club though. Oh well, at least they get to worry about Americans defaulting on their massive debt, not me!!!!!

Just always wanted to say that. I believe that the Illuminati get a bad rap in general. They where formed as a group of enlightened (illuminated) persons who defide the Church order. People like Gallileo knew that our word revolves around the Sun, but saying so almost cost him his life. The Illuminati was a society for just such people. I applaud them for their courage. The Church has vilifide them and turned their symbols (pentegram etc) into Devil's markings, which they never where. I know it's not scientific, but Angels & Demons is a good read by Dan Brown. If you enjoyed The Da Vinci Code, you'll likely enjoy this one as well.

The pentagram is an ancient symbol and just means power, for whatever use. Christian knights used to put them on the back of their shields during the crusades but the church wasnt complaining then. But as soon as it starts being used by there enemies like the illuminati and witches (whom i have no problem with) it becomes a evil, unholy symbol that symbolizes the devil.

Symbols and numbers like pentagrams and 666 only have power if you let them have power.

While in Florida recently, and finding myself really broke, I wondered into one of the super discount stores and browsed the cheapo DVD section. I found an old, probably from the seventies, movie made in Canada. Randy
Quaid and Lindsey Wagner (after her Bionic Woman stint) were in it and it was about the secret society of the illumanati. It was hysterical. I guess its one of those things that rears its ugly head, every 20 years or so.

Back when they did exist, who illuminated a new Illuminatus? Did they have special study programs or reading lists for Illuminatus novitiates?

well if you have read Dan Brown's Angels and Demons, perhaps you would believe that one had to follow the path of illumination, a puzzle leading to the "altars of science" and the illuminati hide out. its all just fiction though...
