Come on Gringo I am Mexican you need to learn Spanish. This is not a joke it is being said all over the Western states in the work place. It is alarming. We have a very very very big problem and it is Election year my friends and I see no talk of the Anti American Bigotry in the news.
The noisy wheel gets the grease my friends and we are not squeaking loud enough.

The Mexican Mafia is into our State Correction system now and on our streets get ready for some ugly crimes like never before if we don't start waking up soon an taking action.
Nothing worse then seeing the youth in the Hispanic nieghborhoods dieing in gang activities some are as young as 13 years old the Mexican Mafia Drug lords have no care about yhese poor kids.

This is a country founded by British colonists. What did they speak....ENGLISH. If you ask me should have to learn English before you apply for citzenship.

sounds like a great requirement to me. I would also suggest giving them a 4 month "trial" period in the US. If they can keep their noses clean and maintain a job, they can stay. If not they can go back.

Nothing wrong with being able to speak more than one language, even if there weren't such a large Spanish speaking population in the US. I think Spanish should be a required class from elementary school. It improves intelligence.

Now, I've also made another argument on this forum several times. Learning another language takes time. It's also very difficult to learn another language if you don't have a chance to practice it in the real world. There are many immigrants (Most? I'm not sure of the percentages) who are actively learning to speak English while they are living in the US. As I said, it takes time to learn another language, and some people may never be able to reach a fluent level. My wife is Japanese, and has been studying English since she was in elementary school, yet over 25 years later, her English is still not fluent.

I think the problem is that the average American never makes a serious attempt to learn another language, so they have no idea how long it takes and difficult it is, especially for older people.

It does not matter if it is hard for them, I do not care if they are fluent or not, if they can understand what I say and I can understand what they say It doesnt matter. If you go to a place where the bulk language is english and decide to live there you had best learn english.

As an American who lived in Japan for three years with very little knowledge of Japanese, I agree with that. I would always recommend immigrants try to learn English.

for that vast wasteland of yours.....My parents were born in Mexico, came
to the US , learned ENGLISH...no welfare....worked for all they had.
