United States Troop deployment overseas (Not in Middle East)

Germany...........................57,080
Japan (U.S. Forces Japan).........32,803
South Korea (U.S. Forces Korea)...29,086
Italy..............................9,855
United Kingdom.....................9,825

Simply cut troop strength in Germany, Japan and Korea to 20,000 troops each, freeing up 58,000 troops to patrol our borders. Make a 5 mile wide border security zone where the Posse Comitatus Act doesn't apply. Illegals crossing the border and drug imports will nearly cease, and our Military will get useful interdiction training.

I like the idea of bringing some of those troops home. In, fact why do we even have troops in Germany and Italy? The EU can certainly defend itself. Opponents of your idea, though, might be worried that a future fascist President might use those troops to keep illegal invaders out AND to keep Americans citizens in.

I agree except I still want the fence or border security for all the reasons I or you have stated

The San Diego double layer tight woven mesh 15 foot high border fence with the 2 lane highway between layers which WORKED, reducing illegal breakins to a trickle wherever they had that type of fence, is NOT the fence jorge is building. Jorge is building a single layer, lower fence, which even the gov admits is easily penetrated by any invader with a hacksaw. Jorge is building this joke of a fence before the next President might have a chance to build a "real" fence. Jorge, although betraying the American people once again, can say he built the fence, can sleep at night knowing that Mexico knows that this fence isn't going to really stop any invaders. According to jorge when the NAU goes into effect and the US/Mexico border is removed, this cheap version of a fence can be easily abandoned.
