My Grandfather told me once that our ancestors came to America because they were horse thieves, and had to escape quickly. I could never confirm that exactly, but it's still a great conversation around holiday gatherings.

I came to America when I was three years old, so I don't remember the trek from Cuba to the USA but I know we snook onto a boat in the middle of the night and got here. Wish I could go into more detail about it, I should ask my parents about it.
