Gosh, I know this may shock someone who doesn't have a clue about business or insurance, but insurance premiums are determined by what is covered. Costs for contraception would be nearly entirely passed through to the premium; why wouldn't it? Anyone asking for it is obviously going to use it. So what happens? Insurance companies negotiated as deep a discount on supplies of contraceptives as they possibly can, and that discount is their profit, while you - the consumer - get the contraception for perhaps near the price you would have bought it for regardless.

Either way, those who don't need it shouldn't be required to support insurance plans which give them 'benefits' they cannot use.

So far, all I've seen about this topic is the reason this topic even exists today: Obama was trying to get Government into the business of religion.

Your criticism should be pointed the other way.

Single payer sucks, and - quite frankly - you have a double standard. If you do not think that condoms should be covered (because it isn't a preventative, but it also isn't used by everyone), why should everyone have to pay for everyone else's other health concerns?

Stand up for your fellow females and do that, today!
