I'm no fan of either Bush, but I am unaware of anything he did concerning the Second Amendment that was found to be unconstitutional. I'm amazed at how easily you throw around false hyperbole.

When you first made this erroneous assertion, and when I dutifully corrected you, I chalked up your error to overzealous confusion. When you now repeat this false claim, as you did above, I must now assume you are knowingly stating a falsehood.

This is a sad turn of events.

From my understanding, being in a militia of the United States may even become a family matter. Since it may be a family affair and activity, why should any gun lover object to informing well, any potential electorate of the United States, in the use of Arms in a well Regulated manner?

So...................has Obama's gun grabbing begun yet?.........has anyone in the Obama administration made one peep about gun control?.............

    Oh!......I know the answer!!......No!!!

I am never amazed by the crazy crap people say Obama will do.

    I am a gun owner. I have a 30-30, 30.06, a 308, a 9mm pistol, and an S&W 357. I don't think I'll ever really need an AK-37, or an AR-14, because nobody will invade the US in my lifetime.

    Some of you are nuts!

I'm still not understanding your point of view on this issue. The militia is not what you think it is. You are confusing it with paramilitary groups that do exist but are against the law in most states. You sir are a part of the militia if you are a US citizen or declare your intent to become a citizen and if you a male between 17-45.

Yes his administration did peep. Then backtracked when the political backlash became apparent. As a US senator in 2004 he called it "scandalous that Bush did not extend assault weapon ban". Now I don't think anyone could honestly say for a fact that he won't revert back to his old position. Once he is reelected and never has to face election again. As I will admit there is no absolute proof that he will. Congress will still refuse to pass significant gun control legislation. So my concern is his appointments to the supreme court and future problems that
could cause. I'm sure you know as well that your 30-06 is far more powerful than a Ak-47 or AR-15 rifles. That most snipers use .308 bolt-action rifles an they are by far the most lethal members of our military. Your 9 mm pistol i would imagine use high-capacity magazines as most are. Which is usual mentioned in same breath as assault weapons by gun control groups. Actual I will guarantee you 10 times more people are killed by guns like those you own than the assault weapons you see no use for. I hope your right that we will never need them. I currently only have deer rifles and shotguns. I plan on changing that though to insure I don't lose that ability. I will also give that the republican main contender Mitt Romney is also a former gun control supporter. That I wouldn't trust in a seconded term as well. The court cases that have been decide in favor or gun owners were decided by conservative justices and independent one. Future court cases might not have the same results if Obama appoints more justices to the court. So while you may think assault rifles are unnecessary a large number of people think your weapons of choice are as well. I don't hate Obama or love the republicans. I trust neither group just Obama I Trust less at this current time.

I am distinguishing between a well regulated militia of the United States and just any militia, since only a well regulated militia is specifically enumerated as necessary by our Founding Fathers and authorized to execute the laws of the Union, or a State.

That is why I told you to look at the" militia act of 1903".
All American men of 17-45 are members. The national guard is the organized militia every other man between 17-45 is the reserve or unorganized militia.
The militia act of 1903 is the regulations of the well regulated you keep referring to. Now if you are talking about the " citizen militia organizations "
While their members are a part of the militia of United States the organizations themselves are not unless they are sanctioned by a state. Most states actual have laws banning such organizations. You do not seem to understand the other part of the amendment is separate that is "the right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed. It is what guarantees the individual right to own weapons.

Because, if you love your republic as much as you love your guns, you would not have any issue mustering for your republic.

Answer: No one was falsely labeled. Only the 'anti-Second Amendment crowd' were being addressed... anyone who is not in that category was by definition not included.

And Holder's statement remains now, as before, another of the inconvenient truths, regardless how much anti-Second Amendment types try to run from it. It clearly, though amusingly and inadvertently, states the desire and intention of the Obama administration to weaken the Second Amendment and impose more gun control... and that was the subject of the OP -- not your erroneous whining that someone labeled someone else anti-Second Amendment.

Thanks for the partial re-post, omitting the parts of the post you find so inconvenient... I'll re-post the most succinct section since it apparently bothers you too much to have such direct evidence of the Obama admin's anti-Second Amendment mindset staring off the page at people:

CBS News, 2/26/09: "Responding to a reporter's question on weapons' regulations, Holder said, 'Well, as President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons. I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum' ".

Question: Wouldn't you guess that even anti-Second Amendment types find Holder's statement about Mexico truly astonishing in view of "Fast & Furious"?

And again, If Obama gets a second term watch for the admin to use the same methods attempted by the Clinton admin in his second term to impose more gun regulations. Specifically, look for both Executive Orders and non-legislative means such as legislation-by-regulatory-agency, like the extensive but ultimately failed attempt by Housing and Urban Development (led in 2000 by then-Secretary of HUD (currently NY governor) Andrew Cuomo) to create a maze of new restrictions on the right of U.S. Citizens to keep and bear arms. Fortunately the additional regs in 2000 were short-circuited by Gaston Glock.

Well the president is responsible for executing the laws. Not the militia I don't think you are understanding what the militia is I this country. The militia just like the professional military main job is to protect the constitution. An of course protect the country against all threats foreign and domestic. You speak of the founding fathers. Have you read what Jefferson, Madison, and Washington have said about the militia and the military since they are different. I find it hard to believe you have. The militia clause is more complicated than what you seem to understand. I won't explain it all because it would take to long. It gives congress the power to draft citizens for military service. In the past it was used by states even individual law enforcement. After the civil war republican governors in the south used black militas to keep order. The democrats used the KKK as militia force. It has been used to protect remote citys and town from attack from native Americans tribes. Now the militia act of 1903 that I said you should read. Was enacted because of issues we had during the Spanish-American war. During that war the government had problems trying to assemble a quality militia. It was what formed the national guard. The reserve or unorganized militia is separate it is why you can be drafted. It is also explained in the militia act of 1903. This is all under the first section of the 2nd. The second part separated by the comma guarantees the individual right. As I said gun owner love their country as much if not more than non gun owners. Your trying to paint us as anything else is not very intelligent. You're I think looking at a small group of people. An falsely concluding all gun owner are that way.

You sir are confused my republic is what allows an even insist I have guns.
You bring up founding fathers yet make no attempt to understand why they gave us the rights in the constitution. The right to disagree with my government is one of those rights. You need to further educate your self before
you make statements that only shows you lack knowledge of both the laws of this country and the citizens themselves.

What is an AK-37 or AR-14?

How would sporting rifles prevent an invasion of the US?

They are anything but military grade weapons.

Why are people so afraid to say the obvious ,it doesnt make you anti-Semitic,just makes you half way clued in....gun grabbing is a Jewish thing, all major gun laws are drawn up by Jews, going back decades....same thing with censorship, and mass immigration ..open borders....this is the reality.Sure they get a little help, seeing they are only %2-3 of the population

    U.S. Gun Control Legislation, 1968-Present

    Emanuel Celler [Jew]
1968: The Gun Control Act of 1968 comes from Rep. Emanuel Celler’s House bill H.R. 17735. It expands legislation already attempted by the non-Jewish Sen. Thomas Dodd. America’s biggest and most far-reaching gun law came from a Zionist.

    Howie Metzenbaum [Jew]
1988: Senate bill S. 1523 is sponsored by Senator Howard Metzenbaum. It proposes legislation turning every violation of the Gun Control Act of 1968 into a RICO predicate offense, allowing a gun owner to be charged with federal racketeering offenses.
    1988: Senator Metzenbaum co-sponsors a bill -- S. 2180 -- to ban, or limit/restrict, so-called “plastic guns.”

    Herb Kohl [Jew]
1990: Senator Herbert Kohl introduces bill S.2070, the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990, which bans gun possession in a school zone. The law will later be struck down in court as unconstitutional.1993: Senate bill S.653 is sponsored by Sen. Howard Metzenbaum. It bans specific semiautomatic rifles, but also gives the Secretary of the Treasury the power to add any semiautomatic firearm to the list at a later date.

    Chuck Schumer [Jew]
February, 1994: The Brady Law, which requires waiting periods to buy handguns, becomes effective. Senator Metzenbaum wrote the Brady Bill. Metzenbaum sponsored the bill in the Senate. The sponsor of the bill in the House was Rep. Charles Schumer [2].1994: Senator Metzenbaum introduces S.1878, the Gun Violence Prevention Act of 1994, aka “Brady II.” Rep. Schumer sponsored “Brady II” sister legislation [H.R. 1321] in the U.S. House of Representatives.

    Dianne Feinstein [Jew]
September, 1994: The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 goes into effect, including a provision that bans the manufacture and possession of semiautomatic rifles described as “assault weapons.” [Note: true assault weapons are fully automatic, not semiautomatic]. That gun-ban provision was authored in the Senate by Senator Dianne Feinstein and authored in the House by Congressman Schumer.

    Arlene Specter [Jew]
1995: Senators Kohl, Specter, Feinstein, Lautenberg and others introduce the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1995, an amended version of the 1990 school-zone law which was struck down in court as being unconstitutional.

    Frank Lautenberg [Jew]
September, 1996: The Lautenberg Domestic Confiscation provision becomes law. It is part of a larger omnibus appropriations bill. It was sponsored by Senator Frank Lautenberg. It bans people convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence from ever owning a gun.1997: Senate bill S. 54, the Federal Gang Violence Act of 1997, proposes much harsher sentences for people violating minor gun laws, including mandatory prison sentences and forfeiture of property. It was introduced by Dianne Feinstein and Senator [Hatch], among others. It returns the idea of turning every violation of the Gun Control Act of 1968 into a RICO predicate offense

    Barbara Boxer [Jew]
Januayy, 1999: Senator Barbara Boxer introduces bill S.193, the American Handgun Standards Act of 1999. January, 1999: Senator Kohl introduces bill S.149, the Child Safety Lock Act of 1999. It would to require a child safety lock in connection with transfer of a handgun. February, 1999: Senator Frank Lautenberg introduces bill S.407, the Stop Gun Trafficking Act of 1999. February, 1999: Senator Lautenberg introduces S.443, the Gun Show Accountability Act of 1999.

    Senator Abe Levin [Jew]
March, 1999: Senator Lautenberg introduces bill S.560, the Gun Industry Accountability Act of 1999. March, 1999: Senator Feinstein introduces bill S.594, the Large Capacity Ammunition Magazine Import Ban Act of 1999. May, 2000: Senate bill S. 2515, Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2000, is submitted by Senators Feinstein, Senator Barbara Boxer, Sen. Lautenberg and Sen. Schumer. It is a plan for a national firearms licensing system.

January, 2001: Senate bill S.25, Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2001, is sponsored by Feinstein, Schumer, and Boxer. It is a nation-wide gun registration plan [apparently there were two versions of that Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act bill].

May, 2003: Senators Feinstein, Schumer, Boxer and others introduce legislation that would reauthorize the 1994 federal assault weapons ban, and, close a loophole in the law that allows large-capacity ammunition magazines to be imported into the U.S. The ban is scheduled to expire in September, 2004.

October, 2003: Senators Feinstein, Lautenberg, Levin [also Jewish] and Schumer co-sponsor bill S.1774, designed to stop the sunset [ending] of the Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988.

March, 2005: Senator Lautenberg introduces bill S.645, “to reinstate the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act,” in other words, to reinstate the 1994 assault-rifle ban [also known as the “Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994“] which expired in late 2004.

March, 2005: Senator Feinstein introduces bill S.620, “to reinstate the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act,” in other words, to reinstate the 1994 assault-rifle ban [also known as the “Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994”] which expired in late 2004. Well, we all know that no politician in their right mind would actually say they are against The Constitution. If they ever do, then impeachment/removal proceedings should begin immediately.

Apparently, you cannot comprehend what I am saying.

Nobody has a problem with the common-sense procedures gun retailers use in order to prevent the wrong people from obtaining guns. If you are law-abiding, there is no problem. Red flags appear, and gun sales are terminated. The BATFE blew the system off in order to let these guns walk.

Nobody is being hypocritical. The NRA and myself have no problem with the simple methods in place.

"I had no idea you were so thick."

Who's the pot calling the kettle black?

    Move on, my friend.

For the sake of arguing, I took what that poster said about Bush as fact. I'll admit that was not good, but my point was that he is history.
