About 50% of head starts funding is federal, give or take depending on the state. It would be nice if we lived in utopia... but you see there are states out there without population centers, and density and thus cannot generate the revenues that the states with population density and centers can. If you don't allow for federal funding those low density states would have children entirely lacking in resources that should be afforded all children as it is just good governance.

Not having read the link in the OP I did not know of the dead or alive part. I thought it was just for the capture, so yes that is worse.

I live in one of those "poor conservative" states, and we do just fine with pre-k funding through the lottery only. Maybe it is because we don't blow our budget paying retired cops $100k a year.

I will make it easy for you.

You live in Florida the 4th most populace state in the nation. Though you guys have the 38th ranked by per capita income, all those retirees drag that number down. If the lottery tax includes BINGO them retirees alone fund head start.

The states I CLEARLY was pointing to would be the ones without major cities, which Florida has plenty, and very small overall populations. South Dakota, West Virginia, Montana, etc.

Lying on the internet.... well I guess being from there makes it not really a lie. I always assume anyone that took the time to put a lil flag icon on their profile is actually living where their flag says, well except that one dude that rocks the old soviet union flag.

an organization, lawless at that, cannot issued wanted posters...especially wanted dead or alive. Why aren't the cops rounding up these criminals and locking them up.

Maybe because......the BPs would fight back with guns? Or Eric Holder is still refusing to prosecute black on white crime? Just to make things...EQUAL?

Probably the same reason those WestBourogho Baptists get to run around with their utterly offensive and repugnant signs. Until something happens I guess you gotta let them make their "political statement" in our country <shrugs> love it or leave it?

you do know that Westboro is NOT right wing don't you.

And regardless these are two different matters. We're talking about an organization issuing a wanted dead or alive poster and offering money to some to kill a man before he can have his day in court. Is this what you want for yourself?

Yeah but until something happens they could just claim free speech, and that the poster is not meant to be taken literally.

Indeed, and if something happens they should be punished. If you shout fire in a crowded theatre and no one moves you have not incited a riot.

This isn't anywere near free speech. Any court is going to look at that and laugh and throw their ass in jail.

You can't claim free speech when you are instigating violence or any illegal activity.

I doubt they have ten thousand dollars between all of them, unless they combine all their welfare checks together.

It's hypocritical for you to post flambait, as in the first post above, and then decry it, as in the second.

Yup. Apparently stand your ground still applies if you actively hunt and stalk the person first!

Violence breeds violence. Most unfortunate in either case.

This is EXACTLY why you need to make sure your laws make sense. I don't care what the law says it does not make sense that someone who actively hunts and stalks someone with a gun can later claim self defense when he uses the gun.

With the lax gun control laws down south, it should be rather easy for them to arm themselves from their many enemies.:toast:

Offering a capture (kidnap) dead or alive bounty is NOT an example of free market anything.

Actually this would be the free market version of police.
