    Time to hit the beach for a little R&R, folks. Grab a bar stool and get away from it all for a little while. Everybody's welcome here -- no politics allowed... but everything else is pretty much OK. :heart:

    [IMG]

    Our own private beach to :relax: & regroup.

    [IMG]

    Open kitchen, free jukebox, ice cold cocktails and red hot women... what more can you ask for??

    Come on, y'all. Roll up yer pants legs and let's drink.

    Darn, guess it's time to turn in so I can rest up for FRIGGING JURY DUTY again tomorrow. Have a good evenin, y'all! May the sound of the gentle waves lapping on the sand lull you to sleep and poolboys dance in your dreams. (oh wait, that's Mary's wish)

    Nighty-nite, y'all! [IMG]

    Looks nice, and certainly better than a court room.
    If they ever decide to call me for JD, I'll leave the country. No way could I EVER sit still for more than 15 minutes.
    Well, they could bring in a tread mill.....?

    Just consider yerself lucky you weren't chosen { do they use a jury lotto }
    for Grand Jury Duty.That's basically for 3 month interval instead of standard
    one month service.

    Dallas County standard is one trial or one day. IOW, if you don't get picked day one, you get released. I knew about the $6 first day jury pay, but had no idea day two pays $34! Expect a check in the mail for forty bucks! WOO HOO!

    I wouldn't relive the last 2 days for 4000 bucks. Anybody ever been involved in a hung jury? It's NOT a pleasant thing. Very fortunate I'm not the one who ended up in jail. Petit jury... 5 normal people and one IDIOT. Told the judge we were hopelessly deadlocked (5-1) this morning.... she made us go to lunch and think about it... but not talk about it. Us and the idiot all sat at different tables in the courthouseateria. It was awkward, but nobody got cut. THEN we reported back and she excused us.

    Never again... I've served my time. They can let somebody else play Law & Order. I'm hanging up my gavel.

    That's right.You can just go home after they pick a Jury { Voire Dire }
    So you have to pretend that yer Catholic and tell them when they interview you
    that as a Catholic you do not believe in Capital Punishment.The Prosecution will
    not put yer name down as a possible Juror.That's what I did.
    But then I am Catholic { Not practicing } but did go to ALL Catholic schools
    and also got an A in my Ethics class as a Senior in regards to stuff like
    Capital Punishment and Euthanasia.
    Not to be confused with Youth in Texas.

    Catholic wouldn't have saved you on this DWI trial... in fact, we had one on the jury. It was such a traumatic experience, I started a thread about it on the backup forum. Check it out. ~shudder~
