How come the elite are so set against all forms of taxation, yet are happy to dole out millions in donations to campaigns. They rant and rave over how the government wastes money yet is there a worse use for the money than spending billions of dollars on a single election? The rich according to the cons are paragons of virtue so why this blatant hypocrisy from them? Is this not another example of how you are being duped by them?

What? Ya think the cons are the only ones guilty of blatant hypocrisy when it comes to the elite and their political influence in the structuring of tax laws??? Hah! Give me a break!

I think people like spending their own money, not having it spent for them.

Of course not. The Democratic party claims to be for the poor but then caters to the same elite. There's really not that much difference between the two parties.

Ok. But isn't one of the arguments that giving government the biggest waste of money? I would say giving to election campaigns is a bigger waste. Unless of course they use it to peddle influence.

You have people who work in the government whom dont like the government that they work for. Sometimes they may want to make some impact and changes, and thats where the hand selected donations come into play. If I want to donate money to a political canidate, I want to do so to one that will support my line of thinking. Thats why we vote! I would never want my contributions going to Obama, Romney , etc... I would want my donations to only go to Dr. Paul.

Why do you post such hypocricy?

FY 2011, the USA collected $1,272,600,000,000.00 in income taxes.

$181,100,000,000.00 of that was corporate taxes. The rich, not the poor pay corporate taxes. [You can make the case that CUSTOMERS pay corporate taxes, but that's a different issue]
    $1,091,500,000,000.oo was personal income taxes.

The rich, 35 million people paid $952,879,500,000.00 plus the corporate taxes, for a total of $1,133,979,500,000.00 of the total.

The remaining, not rich, people, 277,000,000 of them paid $138.6 billion. NOT TRILLION, billion.
